Summer Reading: Adventure Begins At Your Library

Summer Reading: Adventure Begins At Your Library Graphic

The Summer Reading Program at the Meredith Public Library runs from July 2 - August 10.

See below for details by age group on how to sign up and participate.

Adults – Enjoy the Backyard Adventure Challenge.  Explore all of Meredith’s backyard including many of the sights and experiences available in this wonderful area.

Participation is simple and fun.  People need to pick up an entry form from the circulation desk at the library or download one here.  Complete at least five activities out of seventeen possibilities.  After doing the activities, they need to return the form to the library for a chance to receive prizes related to local attractions.

Teens – In each of the six weeks, teens will be exploring a different adventure theme such as Adventures in the Middle Ages, Adventures Under The Sea, and Adventures in Survival.

Teens should see Miss Liz, the Teen Librarian, to sign up for the Teen Summer Reading Program and receive a swag bag as well as all the info on how to earn Schmiddy coins which can be turned in for prizes later this summer.

(Please note that children ages 10 and over are welcome to come to the library without a parent or guardian, but library staff are not responsible for their supervision.  Kids ages 8 and 9 are also welcome, but must be accompanied by an adult.)

Little Kids – Younger children and their parents should see Miss Karen, the Children’s Librarian, to pick up a Summer Reading Log.  Kids can earn play money which can be used to buy prizes in the Discovery Hut.
