The Meredith News Editions 1925-2007 Now Available Digitally
It's now easier than ever to relive or discover contemporaneous accounts of Meredith history. The Meredith Public Library has just announced completion of a project which digitized all the library's holdings of The Meredith News for the years 1925-2007, resulting in the availability of 89,448 pages spanning the seven decades.
The full database is available free of charge anywhere via the Internet from a link found on the library's website. Historical researchers and interested parties can simply navigate to the library's homepage at www.MeredithLibrary.org and navigate to the Digital Meredith News Archive link found under the Reading and Research tab.
Database options include browsing complete issues by date or executing a full text search with the option to narrow by parameters. As it says on the site, "Whether you’re tracing family roots, reviewing local events, or exploring civic life over time, this archive brings Meredith’s story to your fingertips. By preserving and sharing these newspapers online, the library strengthens community identity and keeps the town’s heritage accessible to all."
